Our core business is to deliver health, safety and environmental compliance solutions to our customers. As part of our efforts to enhance our marketplace we continue to provide free seminars, training and informative emails to prospects and customers. This ensures they are kept informed of changes in legislation and current hot topics whilst enabling them to share experiences. 2009 saw the launch of our Legionella News website and forum that aims to be the definitive website in the field of legionella control, offering an interface and a communication portal to facilities managers, researchers and manufacturers involved in the rapidly expanding field of legionella control for the built-environment.

We took part in a knowledge exchange event for the Government FM Network for Health and Safety, where we delivered information on proactive legionella risk management. We also organised a free special event that looked to give insight into several key areas of compliance and included top barrister Gerard Forlin who spoke at the conference on health and safety law and practice, with practical guidance on implementing management controls to ensure legal compliance. This provided direction for attendees to consider their responsibilities when managing the facilities in their buildings.

In addition to increasing communication with our customer and prospect database, we have also looked to obtain feedback from our customers and evaluate most parts of our business. Over 95% of customers surveyed rated the Group as being 'Good' or 'Excellent' in the delivery of our products and services.

In addition to the above we are also proud that we pay 98.8% of our suppliers within their agreed invoicing timescales, particularly during the current climate when cash flow is the main reason for businesses failing. We also make sure that local suppliers are considered first for any service that we are looking to purchase. In addition to this we are actively questioning the qualities and standards of our contractors and suppliers. This is being done via an intensive Contractor / Supplier Competency Questionnaire.

The idea of this is to ensure that the supplier enhances our philosophy and services ...

• by having Quality and Environmental credentials with a commitment to their staff development and welfare in place

• by making use of renewable/sustainable resources

• the location of the supplier is preferably within the local community

Internally, we have created an Improvement Group, which consists of employees from different areas of business. They are tasked to look for improvements in our internal and external processes. The group meets frequently to identify, address and implement improvements, so we can improve the customer service that we provide.
